Performing experience enhances your child’s confidence and positive self-image, and reinforces the concept of dance as a performing art. Therefore, Excellence in Dance provides the opportunity for all students to perform at our annual workshop. This performance is held on the Saturday of Memorial day weekend at the professional stage at Cuyahoga Falls High School. Every class performs each year. Dances are specifically choreographed to demonstrate the student’s yearly progress and are geared to engage their interest. Child centered and parent friendly, rehearsals are few (technique is learned in the classroom every day!), costs are kept to a minimum (one workshop fee covers unlimited audience members!), and classic, age appropriate costumes are modestly priced.  Of course the best part is the joy and pride of the dancers themselves.

Dancers age 8-16 years of age who are interested in more performance opportunities, may audition for the Cuyahoga Valley Youth Ballet. The CVYB is one of the oldest pre-professional youth ballets in the nation, performing original ballets by outstanding choreographers. Performances include the annual CVYB performance at the Akron Civic Theatre and our holiday Nutcracker production. In addition, as part of CVYB on tour, dancers will perform at various schools and community groups throughout Northeast Ohio.
